We are also very happy to present our new teacher Gizem Sevgi and School Director Brenda Mollman at this occasion. If you are interested then this will be a great time to meet with the school teacher and see if you want your kids to be a part of this community and heritage through VATAN-SC.
Gizem Sevgi graduated from Bilkent University, Ankara Turkey with an High
Honor Degree on American Literature (GPA:3.81). After her BA studies, she completed her Pedagogical Proficiency Degree at Hacettepe University, Ankara
Turkey. She assigned by the Department of Education to Ankara Bahcelievler High School as an English Teacher for the 2007-2008 Academic Year. She worked part
time during her BA studies at Bilkent Holding, Tepe Construction Ankara in International Trade Department and part time in Ankara Chamber of Commerce
as a translator in International Trade Department. She moved to United States,California in 2008 to pursue her MBA degree. After completing her studies at
University of California Los Angeles in International Business, she got her transfer to California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks to continue her education in
MBA Marketing. She lives in Woodland Hills, CA and happy to be a member of VATAN community as a teacher for Fall Term Academic Year.

"VATAN" Ventura County American Turkish Association is founded for educational and cultural reasons. It is a chapter of American Turkish Association of Southern California (ATA SC) and thus recognized as a charitable organization by the IRS. The main purposes of VATAN are as follows:
(a) Present Turkish culture to the public at large, and promote a better understanding between the Turkish and American communities; read more

(c) Operate a Turkish School (on a weekend day) to teach children (and adults) Turkish language, history and culture;
