Our Mission

Ventura County Turkish School is an informal educational and cultural project that is being developed by the Ventura County American Turkish Association (VATAN) as a service to the Turkish-American community in Ventura County.

The School’s primary goals are:

(1) to teach Turkish-American children and adults the Turkish language (at varying levels) emphasizing the whole range of communication skills, speaking, writing, reading and comprehension;

(2) to familiarize the students with the history of Turkish people and Turkey, its geography and people at a level equivalent to elementary/middle school education in Turkey; and

(3) to teach the basics of Turkish culture, heritage, music, tradition, and customs.

The School is open to all VATAN members and the general public.

Classes:

Kids: Ages 4-6

Stars: Ages 7-12

Adult A (Advanced): Ages 15+ Adults *

Adult B1 (Beginner Level I): Ages 15+ Adults *

Adult B2 (Beginner Level 2): Ages 15+ Adults *

*Classes will be opened if 5 or more students are enrolled

Tuition per semester* (estimated):

VATAN members:

1 Student: $100, 2 Students: $150, 3 Students: $175 

Non-members:

Student: $125, 2 Students: $200, 3 Students: $225

*Tuition might change depending on the number of students attending school.
