ATASC and all of its chapters organized an Members’ Afternoon Tea at the residence of Turkish Consul General Honorable Hakan and Nazan Tekin. The main purpose of the event was to gather the Turkysh Amerycan communyty from San Dyego to Ventura, and to show the unity, solidarity and collaboration between all ATASC Chapters. The other purpose was to raise funds for education – for both ATASC School in Izmit, Turkey and also for the schools supported by chapters here in SC. The surprise of the day was the attendance of Yasemin Kumral, the popular singer of 1970’s. full story

Backgammon Tournament , March 22, 2008, Ventura
We had a backgammon tournament. It was quite competitive and very lively. Veli Hergul became our champion and received a beautiful backgammon set - well deserved by his game skills - as the prize. We will have a chance for "revansh" at the mothers day picnic in Ventura Marina Park. pictures

We had close to 90 people, roughly 75 adults and 15 children. It was wonderful to see you, all wanting to see old friends, to meet other Turkish American people, and to be a part of the Turkish American Community. full story
