Our Mission
Ventura County Turkish School is an informal educational and cultural project that is being developed by the Ventura County American Turkish Association (VATAN) as a service to the Turkish-American community in Ventura County.
The School’s primary goals are:
(1) to teach Turkish-American children and adults the Turkish language (at varying levels) emphasizing the whole range of communication skills, speaking, writing, reading and comprehension;
(2) to familiarize the students with the history of Turkish people and Turkey, its geography and people at a level equivalent to elementary/middle school education in Turkey;
(3) to teach the basics of Turkish culture, heritage, music, tradition, and customs and
(4) to provide an environment where Turkish children can learn and play together.
The School is open to all VATAN members and the general public.
Classes:
Kids: Ages 4-6/7
Stars: Ages 7/8-12
Juniors: Ages 13-15*
Adult I (Beginner Level): Ages 15+ and Adults *
Adult II (Intermediate Level): Ages 15+ and Adults *
*Classes will be opened if 5 or more students are enrolled. Classes can be combined depending on the number of students.
Tuition for Fall Session:
VATAN member Families: First student: $100, second and third students from the same family: $50/additional student
Non-member Families: First Student: $150, second and third students from same family: $75/ additional student
